Hooria is the Principal Dentist at Olsen’s Dental Practice and has over 25 years of experience. She graduated from Cardiff Dental School in 1993 and worked in hospital dentistry as an Oral Surgeon for a few years before moving into general dental practice. She started Olsen’s Dental Practice in July 2005.
She is especially passionate about Orthodontic Treatments (Braces) and completed her 1-year Advanced Course in Orthodontics at the IAS Academy In London in November 2017. She is now a Clinical Mentor and Instructor at the IAS Orthodontic Academy in the UK for Fixed Braces.
Always keen to learn and progress, she has also completed courses in Implant Dentistry, Cosmetic/Restorative Dentistry and Invisalign® Braces. She completed her further training in Straumann® Implant Dentistry in 2013. She acquired her Certificate in Cosmetic Dentistry and Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry (Sept 2008) and has been certified to provide Invisalign (Clear Braces) since 2009. Hooria is particularly sensitive with nervous patients and children. She has also been a member of the British Dental Association (BDA) for many years.
When not practising dentistry, she spends her time playing in a local rock band, reading books and spending time with her teenage children, husband, friends and family.
Irene is the Associate Dentist at Olsens, and has worked with Hooria for the past year having previously worked in a number of establishments in London and Manchester. She moved to the UK, having grown up in Toronto from a family of dental practitioners, so teeth are in her blood, so to speak...
Having graduated from the University of Valencia in 2014, she developed a special interest in periodontics. After graduating Irene entered a clinical attachment in the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery at the University Hospital in Bochum Germany.
Irene regularly attends conferences and training to keep up with the latest advances in Dentistry. In particular she has a special interest in periodontics, preventative and minimally invasive dentistry. She has maintained long standing relationships with patients and she has a special interest in providing support for those with a nervous disposition when receiving treatment.
Alongside her dental training, Irene also has a passion for facial aesthetic medicine and has undertaken extensive training in advanced facial contouring with dermal fillers and wrinkle-relaxing injections. That being said, much like in dentistry, her aim is to enhance ones natural beauty without achieving artificial looking results.
She also loves travel – exploring new cities; the arts, food and culture. Having played tennis to a high junior standard, she is still a big fan of the sport and, like all Canadians, ask her anything about maple syrup and hockey.
